A Modern Myth trilogy

Well, I’ve thought it over and have decided that since one book trilogies have become so popular, I will release my A Modern Myth trilogy as one book. I’m still considering how to price it. Will probably have a special introductory rate to get people excited about it and then raise it. This also means I might edit the series and make it erotic. After all, my erotica is the only thing selling right now, so I have decided I won’t release anything else that isn’t hard core. Which means I will be making the Next Generation I created on Episode as erotic too. Sorry to those of you who read it in its PG version on that platform, but then again, I doubt any of you would want to spend money on the ebook anyway. Once I get through that, which is taking longer than I had hoped, I might then release the final two books (Drew’s Awakening and the Next Generation) as a combo. Just depends on how much time I can dedicate to it.

So stay tuned.

New hot short!

I haven’t done any writing lately, but I was inspired over the weekend to write another erotic short story. I titled it From Fantasy to Reality, and you can currently get it at Smashwords: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/459712

I’m still working on what full length novel I will write next. Since the Klenar stories are my most popular, I’m trying to think of where else I can take that story. Possibly Sierra’s child. Since he/she would be a mix of human, klenarian and pricosling, it might be interesting to explore that hybrid. I could also give Sted his own story. Or I could even write about Sierra’s first child, who is now the king of Klenar. Is he evil like his father or will he turn out to be the hero that planet needs? So many possibilities. 🙂

Jixit is finally finished and ready for its release date!

I just uploaded the updated version of Jixit to Smashwords, so it can make its way to the other online stores. For some reason Kobobooks hasn’t updated with any of my recent books, so it seems that Jixit won’t be for sale there.

Available NOW at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Itunes, as well as on Smashwords.com and other select online retailers, including but not limited to Oyster and Scribd.

Here again is the blurb for Jixit:

Colin Jix is a loner. He’s had to be, due to a unique ability that is also a curse. So he lives in a remote mountain town where he limits his contact with other people. He’s settled into his solitary life and resigned himself to be alone. That is until Dot Tate shows up with a broken down car and needs his help. Neither can fight their immediate attraction, even though he tries to remain distant. But then as he uncovers a tragic secret and must step outside his comfort zone to make things right, he discovers his curse is actually a gift.

5 Star Review for Kings of Klenar!

I have been getting so frustrated over Amazon’s stubborn refusal to publish the erotic version of Kings of Klenar to their Kindle store that I tend to forget to promote the sites that DO offer it.  Of course it started on Smashwords, where it will remain.   Here is the link, and I was just notified that one of the people who bought it has rated it 5 stars.  Scroll to the bottom to read her review:

https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/374016

Barnes & Noble also has it on their site:

I’m hoping to eventually get it through on Amazon, but at this point I won’t hold my breath.  The thing that really bothers me is that one of the women who bought the erotic version on Amazon before it was yanked, gave me a 4 star review. Too bad I didn’t get a screen shot!  Now that will only show again if it ever gets back on their site.  The erotic paperback is still there, since CreateSpace sent that over, and once Smashwords approves it to their premium catalog, it will be sent out to all their channels.  It is my hope that Amazon will be the only one online that refuses to have the ebook on their site.  🙂

ETA It’s finally on Amazon!  http://www.amazon.com/Kings-Klenar-Erotic-Prequel-Sierra-ebook/dp/B00GMWC36O

I also realized I can edit the book descriptions in Author Central, so I have added both reviews the book has received so far.  So you can now read them in one place.

Unexpected Kings of Klenar sales!

Wow!  I’m honored and surprised by how well Kings of Klenar has been selling since it went live on 11/2/13.  It is my best seller of all my ebooks to date.  Yes, that surprises me.  Years ago when I first started writing erotica, I thought those would be my best sellers, but they languished on Cobblestone’s site.  That could be for a variety of reasons, not withstanding the bad SEO they had.  Another reason that I didn’t expect was the fact they were erotic.  The one reason I thought would guarantee good sales might have been why they didn’t sell well.

This never occurred to me before because I never released any of my books in both erotic and sensual versions.  That is until Kings of Klenar.  Not only has it sold better than I expected in just a few days, but 65% of those sales have been for the sensual version.  Some of that could be due to Amazon being stubborn about releasing it for a few days, but it was available on B&N and Smashwords the same amount of time.  The fact that more than half of those sold came from Amazon, I will hold final judgment until at least a week has gone by with both versions being available there.

If the percentages hold steady at 2 to 1 preferring sensual, I might have to consider going back to that form of writing and giving up on erotic.  It takes more work to come up with new and hot ways for characters to have sex, so maybe it’s not worth doing it if the majority of my readership prefers the subtle approach. It will definitely give me something to think about.

11/7 update: more copies have sold.  A few more erotic, so the percentage is now 58% to 42% preferring Sensual.  I’m wondering if I should release a sensual version of Drew’s Awakening?  Anyway, I wanted to apologize to any of you who bought Kings of Klenar and found a few typos.  I didn’t expect the book to sell so many copies so quickly and will be uploading revised versions this weekend.  Also thanks to the gal who posted the 4 star review on the Erotic version.  I think that even inspired a few sales!  🙂

11/8 Update: Wow, I’ve never made so much money through Amazon before, let alone in less than a week.  Squeee!  🙂

Anyway, the percentages are now 55% to 45% favoring Sensual, so it isn’t cut and dried any longer.  Erotic is now selling faster than the sensual, so I don’t doubt it will soon catch up and maybe even pass it by.  So I guess that means I will do both versions from now on.  My next WIP is Jixit, so we’ll see how that does in both versions, though I just can’t imagine any of my books doing even better than Kings of Klenar!   A girl can dream though!

Wow, Amazon has blocked erotic version of Kings of Klenar!

Color me surprised.  I was just notified that my erotic version of Kings of Klenar has offensive content and cannot be listed on Amazon.com.  I checked the publishing platform, and it’s blocked, so they won’t even let me attempt to fix whatever has their panties in a wad.  It could be that they don’t want two books so similar, or that the covers are too similar or that I added (Sensual Version) & (Erotic Version) to the ends of the name for each.  But they approved the sensual version earlier this morning, which you can find here:

http://www.amazon.com/Kings-Klenar-Sensual-Version-ebook/dp/B00GELA5JK/

Barnes & Noble didn’t seem to have a problem with it, so here is that link:

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/kings-of-klenar-jude-liebermann/1117313446?ean=2940149009053

So as it stands right now, the only place to get the erotic version is on Smashwords and B&N.  If it passes Smashwords’ review, it will be distributed to all their channels, so I’m curious to see if any other sites will block it. Considering there is some pretty twisted crap published every day (cough 50 Shades of Grey cough), I can’t imagine my erotic story is all that bad.

I will of course be offering both versions in my store, so if all else fails, you can get it directly from me.  Maybe if enough people see that (Sensual Version) at the end of the title, they will go looking for the spicier version, thereby taking their money away from Amazon.  I really expected better from the site.

ETA that Amazon responded to my query asking why it was blocked.  Apparently something about the product description is against their guidelines.  In case no one is aware of their guideline, here is the only one that could possibly be related to what they have a problem with:

Offensive Content
What we deem offensive is probably about what you would expect.

I had to laugh at that and wrote back that I would appreciate them telling me exactly what they had a problem with. I edited the description and submitted it again. Maybe someone a bit less uptight will get it this time.  I’ll let you know.

Kings of Klenar will be sold as erotic and sensual romances!

After discussing this with my mom (yes, she knows I write erotica and has even read some of it), I’ve decided that starting with Kings Of Klenar, I will start publishing all my erotic stories with two versions.  One will be as intended, hot sex and all, and the other will be edited for those who would rather all the hard core stuff be left behind closed doors.  This idea came to me after asking my mom if she wanted me to edit out the explicit stuff so she could read the story, since that’s what I did with Sierra Sky.  When she said yes, it hit me that there are many women out there who feel the same way, and I don’t want to exclude any of you who don’t want to read smut.  After all, I am a big fan of sensual romances. I wrote them well before I started writing erotica.

So then I wondered, how am I going to differentiate the two when I publish them? I don’t want to create two covers, so I came up with putting “erotic” or “sensual” on the cover and made the erotic Cass a bit sexier. I’ve posted the two different versions of Kings of Klenar below. The hot pink is erotic and the yellow is sensual, which means any sex included will have minimal description. The main story is highly sexual, so yeah, there will still be sex. Just not graphic and there won’t be explicit language either. I’m pretty good at editing those things out, so no one should even be aware there is anything missing, since all other aspects of the story will be intact.  As a side effect, the Sensual version will naturally be shorter, but both versions will sell for the same price.

Hopefully this will open up the world of Klenar to new fans. If I thought I could get away with doing the same thing for Sierra Sky, I would, and I will as soon as my exclusive rights with Total-e-bound have lapsed. That is if it doesn’t cause any conflict with them, since I don’t want to damage the relationship I have with that epub.

I’m currently working on the first edits of Kings of Klenar. When that is finished, I will then start working on the Sensual version and most likely upload them both at the same time to Smashwords and Amazon.  It will probably be around the first week of November, so stay tuned.

Kings of Klenar will be published soon!

It feels like it has taken forever to write this story.  It’s one thing to have a general idea of what happened between Luna and Cass Sky before Sierra Sky was born, but it’s quite a whole different ball of wax to actually write the story.  There is a lot of time that passes between the time they meet and she is born, and weaving that together with the stated facts from the sequel already in place is a bit tougher.  Especially when I was forced to make a few changes by the many editors at Total-e-bound.

Since KOK will be published on my own (through Amazon and Smashwords et al), it won’t be held under the same scrutiny, so I have much more creative control over what will appear in the finish version.  I’m still debating ignoring the changes made in Sierra Sky, put a disclaimer at the beginning of KOK and keep everything as is, or adjust the story for the differences.  I guess I’ll hammer all that out during the editing stages, but one thing I’m certain of is that KOK will be one of the longest books I have written to date.  No, it won’t be a 100,000 word epic, but it will be longer than my 50,000 average.  I’m guessing somewhere around 65,000 words or more.  Considering that Sierra Sky is much shorter, this length surprises even me.  🙂

When I get it polished up a bit, I’ll post a few saucy teasers on the forum.  I’m probably going to price this erotic sci-fi interspecies romance novel at $3.49 like my other full length recent novels, and it will be priced the same on all platforms (Smashwords will distribute to Barnes & Noble, Sony, Kobo, Apple and a few other places).  I hope it does well, and you all like it.  I’ll try not to get my feelings too hurt by any one star reviews!

Petty one star review on free erotica? Really?

Let me start off by staying that I know I can write, and I know my sex scenes are hot.  I try to give people free samples before they buy, and it’s nice to get feedback on occasion. But when someone goes out of their way to post petty one star reviews on something I’m giving away for free? Well, that just pisses me off.  And no, I will never get a thick skin against morons like these:

I’m sorry. I tried to give it a chance, but it was all over the place. Very hard to follow. The actual sex scene was hot, but trying to understand what was happening…took away the fun. Sorry.

So having to read an actual story took away from the porn?  Ah, I’m sorry that the surprise twist ending confused you too much.

This person even admits the sex was hot, but that didn’t even warrant more than one star?  Really?

Oh well, I guess i won’t be offering anymore free reads.  If you’re going to give me a crappy review, it may as well be on something you had to pay for!  😉  Just sayin’!
