I’m always looking for new ways to promote my writing, and I stumbled upon a site called 6 Sentence Sunday. Authors all over the web post 6 sentences from their work, either published or unpublished, and then link to that site. So here are my 6 sentences from Sierra Sky, which is being released tomorrow at Total-e-bound.com:

Expecting her fingers to get sticky and damp from her own blood, she held her breath as she explored where the snake was attached. When she felt dry skin and no sign of teeth or fangs, she deepened her exploration. She stroked and probed until she became certain that it wasn’t a snake…but a tail.

“I have a tail.” It was supposed to be a question but came out as a statement instead. “How can I have a tail?”

I came across a site that showcases author’s sites that post 6 sentences of their work every Sunday. It can either be published or not, but it has to be six sentences. I’m going to start doing this every Sunday, starting on the 4th, which is the day before Sierra Sky is released with Total-e-bound. So be sure to visit at least once a week to read whichever 6 sentences I choose. It could either be snippets from upcoming releases, forum exclusives or even short micro stories written right then. Stay tuned…

Please welcome guest blogger, Selena Blake, an erotic author with Changeling Press:

What is your favorite genre to write and why?

SB: I love, love, love paranormal romance. From lightly paranormal to hardcore world building, there’s so much variety, so much passion in paranormal romance. I love the suspense, the allure of paranormal characters, the trials that come with long life and lost love, the angst. I love how at any given moment the world could be destroyed or saved by a gallant hero.

Who is your favorite hero in one of your books? Why?

SB: Don’t tell the others but I really love Andre. He’s so brooding and Alpha. He’s very self assured and I find that so sexy. He’s the type of guy that would have you tripping over yourself to do anything he asked. And he has a heart of gold. When he loves, it’s all consuming. Did I mention that he’s passionate and sinfully handsome with an accent that will make you melt?

What is the heat level of your books?

SB: My books are all very erotic and usually explicit, some more than others. My changeling books might singe your hair. LOL

Where can readers find your books?

SB: My Deep Space Encounters series is available on ChangelingPress.com and other retailers like Are. My other books are available via Kindle, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords and assorted other retailers.

Tell us a bit about your newest book. What’s it called?

SB: It’s called Seduced by a Cajun Werewolf and here is a blurb:

Ultra sexy werewolf Laurent Deveraux thinks that Violet, the love of his life, died two hundred years ago until she shows up in New Orleans looking for him.

Violet, now a vampire, thinks she’s someone else. Her powerful and dangerous sire has bound her memories, taught her how to kill and Laurent is her next target.

Laurent is determined to awaken her memories and her undying passion before danger steals her away again.

To read an excerpt, be sure to visit Selena’s Website. Thanks for stopping by Selena. Good luck with your books.

Please welcome this week’s guest blogger, fellow Cobblestone Press author, Kate Sterling. Thanks for taking the time to be with us today, Kate. What is your main inspiration for writing and why?

Hmm… I guess I write because I love words and languages. Whenever I see something that strikes me as interesting, my mind immediately starts telling a story to fit it, trying to pick out just the right words – looking for the most economy and greatest impact.

What is your favorite genre to write and why?

My problem is that I don’t have a favorite! Against conventional wisdom, I like to write in many genres, and in many heat levels. Sweet to sizzling, light to dark, realistic to fantastic, and any combination thereof. Trying to stick with just one is almost like asking a mother to pick her favorite child.

Who is your favorite hero in one of your books? Why?

This is tough, because I have four favorites and three of them are from works in progress! However, from a published work, I’d have to say Jason in “Managing Maggie”. I just love him because even though he’s younger than the heroine, he was such a gentleman, yet also very, very hot.

What is the heat level of your books?

They range from sweet to extra hot. My current release is an erotic romance.

Where can readers find your books?

The most recent, “Managing Maggie”, is at Cobblestone Press. Following is a blurb:

Maggie was devastated when her husband divorced her because she couldn’t have children, but she moved on and started her own graphic design business.

When her business partner Jason indicates he wants their relationship to be personal, Maggie is tempted by the sexy young designer, but thinks she’s too old for him. Yet an unexpected encounter featuring fuzzy handcuffs and a pink flogger leaves her feeling he may just be “The One”.

She’s riding a wave of happiness until a younger woman claims to be pregnant by Jason. Broken-hearted, Maggie doesn’t see how their relationship can survive, but Jason has other ideas.

To read an adult rated excerpt, be sure to visit Cobblestone Press.

Thanks again for stopping by, Kate, and I must say that your cover is one of my favorites at Cobblestone. Good luck with sales!

I will be posting author promos every Wednesday starting tomorrow. I will be kick starting them with one of my own books and have at least two other authors scheduled. If there are any other authors that would like to be a guest blogger (in exchange for having me as a guest on your blog), let me know here or on my forum. Following is what is needed for any guest author:

I’ll need the link to the book you want promoted, along with an excerpt, and answer at least two of the following questions:

What is your main inspiration for writing and why?
What is your favorite genre to write and why?
Who is your favorite hero in one of your books? Why?
How many books have you written and which is your favorite?

And everyone needs to answer the following:

What is the heat level of your books?
Where can readers find your books?

Please note that while the books you want to promote can be any heat level, the excerpt must be rated PG13 or lower.
