Having been a writer for as long as I have, I’m used to editing and re-editing my stories.  There have been several that I have totally rewritten as my writing matured with me.  I am currently in the process of editing one of my recent novellas, hopefully for publication online.  This won’t be the first time I have been published online, but it will be the first time I’ll have a novel published…well, a novella.  My others were all short stories that I only needed to do bit more polishing to get it better.  The revisions I’m currently doing are major rewrites.  Never had to do that on demand before.  It’s going well so far, and I am curious how the finished result will be, and if the publisher will expect more revisions. Some of her suggestions would be changing the entire plot, which I don’t see the need to do.  She found the story intriguing, so wouldn’t changing the plot sort of defeat the purpose? I’m hoping that after it’s all said and done, she’ll agree with how I decided to change things around.
